What Level of Instrument Does My Student Need?

Having trouble knowing what level of instrument your student needs? Maybe we can help...

We get asked this question a lot and the answer varies depending on your student.

There are three things to consider:

  1. What grade are they in now?

  2. How far do you want your student to take this?

  3. And what’s your budget?

If your student is just starting out and is in their first…maybe second year of playing, a good quality student level instrument will typically serve their needs very well. It’s easy and affordable to get this for them with a rental from The Music Store.

If, however, your student has been playing for more than two years…it’s probably time for them to step up into a performance quality instrument that will last most people through High School.

Better quality materials and better craftsmanship get you better results in all things including musical instruments. You get an instrument that is easier to play, responds faster to the player’s desires, has a broader dynamic range and projects further out to your audience. Simply put, they sound better.

There’s good, there’s better and then there’s best. At The Music Store we specialize in instruments under $10,000 – and don’t worry, very few people go to this level but if you are that competitive player who needs every last bit out of an instrument, we can help you find it.

To get specific on the various prices by instrument type, simply call, text or email us and we’ll be happy to help you find your perfect fit!
